On 13 August 2016, the labor law in Turkey has changed. With changing of the labor law also the rules for the residence permits for foreigners in Turkey has changed and improved.
The following improvements have come into force:
- Short term residence permits (Ikamet) can be apply now for 2 years instead of one year.
- Foreigners who are married with Turkish citizens can apply again for 5 years residence permit (Ikamet).
- The rule for short term residence permits, which allows you not to stay longer than 120 days out of the country has been cancelled.
Residence permits for families can apply now for 3 years instead of 2 years.
