Turks are happier now than they were five years ago according to the results of the 6th Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) research centre survey published recently.

The Turkey Profile study, which is carried out every five years, includes participants from rural and urban Turkey across 24 provinces and the latest study reveals that Turkish society is shifting towards a constitution blending tradition with modernity. With 2,072 participants, 50.1 % of males and 49.9% of females, revealed that they were, in general, happy.

Findings indicate that whilst 72.8% of Turks surveyed described themselves as feeling happy in the previous TNS survey of 2005, this figure increased to 87.6%.
